The report finds that shipment volume of the global motherboard industry declined 10.4% year-on-year to 28.97 million units in the first quarter of 2016. The decline is due largely to continued weak market demand and a higher baseline in the fourth quarter of 2015. Furthermore, as there is an increasing number of motherboards coming with a Skylake CPU, motherboard ASP (Average Selling Price) rose slightly in the third quarter of 2016, leading to a sequential growth of 5.9% in shipment value.
